This is a special “Scout” that has been modified with drag handle bars, cut rear fender for the bobber look, custom license plate frame and brake light as well as rear turn lights. The seat is an original OEM tractor style seat completing the US Army tribute look. The bike was professionally painted.

This bike is the personal bike of the owner of Reaper Cycles. The bike was originally delivered in smoke silver. The tins were exchanged with tins from a different bike that had been horribly painted and needed a full paint job. So the tins were exchanged with that bike and sent to paint to do something funky. The Army color was custom matched. Given Indians history as a military supplier a fitting tribute to both Indian and the US Army in WWII.

The bike was NOT involved in an accident and therefore was painted. As mentioned above the tins are not matching tins to this bike. However, as with several of the Scout odometers, the display failed at 6,800 miles and was replaced with a new speedo. All work was done at Indian in Ft. Lauderdale with proper paperwork. A brand new Vance and Hines “Grenades” exhaust was installed about a years and a half ago and produces probably the best sound out there on a Scout!

The oldest motorcycle company in the US is not as most people believe Harley Davidson but Indian Motorcycle Company. Founded in 1901 two years before Harley they have been making classic iconic motorcycles for decades. During WWII the company was an essential supplier of motorcycles to the US military and after the war struggled in making the transition back to the civilian market. Their operation came to an end in the early 50s and they were bought by the British company Royal Enfield who used the iconic name to peddle their unsold bikes. The name Indian then laid dormant for decades. After a half-hearted attempt in the 1990s to revive the company they came back in the late 90s with newly designed models that held the classic lines but had S&S engines. Plagued with reliability and built issues the company was bought by Polaris, who just a few years earlier started the very successful “Victory” brand.
